In 1990, Cocogold assumed ownership of the plant producing the RED V brand in the Philippines. In its twelve years of existence, Cocogold brought together many people with richly diverse backgrounds. On the one hand was the entry of businessmen with extensive involvements in big Philippine industries. On the other were old hands in the coconut business, managers and workers with long experience in raw material sourcing, manufacture and export of coconut products, some stretching back 30 years. Together, both groups crafted a vision for the new company, a vision that puts emphasis on innovation, diversification and excellence in product quality.

Today, the team has grown to more than 1,800 members, with a greatly expanded production capacity and a sales turnover that has quadrupled since its inception. The vision, started by the Vavasseurs who created the brand more than 100 years ago, remains strong and will fuel the efforts of the team in the millennium ahead.
