The plant, operating in Medina, is the most diversified coconut factory in the Philippines, utilizing many alternative food processing technologies such as product blanching, continuous apron-type drying, fluid bed drying, spray drying, creamed product processing, aseptic UHT processing, Tetra packing, solid product blending and retail packing, etc. Together with the diversification of its operations, it has fully-implemented the following major programs to maintain high quality and service reliability standard of all its products:
Quality Programs (HACCP, GMP)
With the full implementation of these Quality Programs, its manufacturing facilities have undergone successful audits by the American Institute of Baking, a prominent rating organization widely accepted in North America. It has also been certified by the British Retail Consortium, an organization whose accreditation is accepted throughout the United Kingdom.
Nut Buying Programs
A reliable coconut supply is the cornerstone of the whole operation. As such, smooth relationships with and proper logistical support to coconut farmers and traders are vital in ensuring uninterrupted flow of raw material. Consequently, the factory not only nurtures its relationships with key suppliers but has expanded its nut buying operations to cover far-flung and non-traditional supply areas, supported by its own fleet of trucks. With its large investment in enterprise-owned fleet operations, and with proper management of the logistics involved, daily delivery of the required volume of fresh nuts into the factory is assured. |

Information Technology
Cocogold and its affiliates have invested in and utilizes an advanced level of information technology in all major facets of operations. This has helped attain a high degree of operating controls, management effectiveness and customer service. Among the various systems implemented are:
- Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), which fully integrates finance, manufacturing, physical logistics and marketing information databases, helping to improve management controls and decision making at all levels.
- Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), which fully computerizes laboratory operations in order to assist in maximizing control over production quality and obtaining complete product traceability.
- Preventive Maintenance Planning System, which helps plan all preventive maintenance activities in order to achieve a high degree of plant equipment reliability. Minimizing unexpected equipment breakdown during operations helps avoid unforeseen production delays and assure meeting planned production completion and shipment dates.
- Human Resource Information Management System, which unifies in one database, payroll, time and production, and human resource information of more than 1,800 personnel, enabling better management of people and work productivity.

Physical Facilities Improvements With the expansion of operations, other plant facilities have been expanded as well. Over the past 3 years, the following have been built:
- A fully racked and palletized Finished Goods Warehouse with ideal storage conditions that will maintain the quality of finished products up to the time of shipment. Loading of goods (thru container bays) is facilitated using electric forklifts. Inventory management and recording of product movements are fully computerized.
- A modern Techno Center to house all laboratory facilities, Quality Assurance Personnel and R&D facilities.
- An integrated Wastewater Treatment Plant using the latest Australian technology to ensure compliance with government regulatory standards.
- Nut Storage Warehouse which has been expanded to assure proper and adequate storage of an expanded volume of nuts required for daily operations.

| Direct Loading at our Mindanao Port Arrangements have been established with some major shipping lines to have their own vessels pick up loaded containers directly from Cagayan de Oro, a major international port in Mindanao Island (only about 2 hours drive from the plant). This arrangement assures: |
- Minimal or no delays in shipping based on reliable weekly sailing schedules of these major shipping lines directly out of the Mindanao port.
- Direct loading of ocean-going containers at the plant, which minimizes cost, assures competitive freight rates, avoids double handling, hastens transit time, and eliminates potential damage to cargo.
- Efficient planning and coo
rdination with world class shipping lines which assures constant availability of food grade containers and makes possible seamless cargo tracking from the factory to final destination. Soon a newer International Mindanao Container Terminal will be operational to better service shipping needs.
